1. We are the Moms and Grandmas of the team. Whether it's cooking team meals or ironing before a contest we have done it multiple times. We are also well-prepared with our snacks and supplies of random medications to ensure the team is healthy and full.
2. We have mastered the art of bladder control or have worked up the courage enough to relieve ourselves outside. Workouts are all day and they may be in the middle of no where. The boys are much more ummmm confident? in their abilities to urinate outside and don't understand the importance of a restroom break. You learn to either hold it or grow a pair and pee outside.
3. Talking testicle circumference and sheath difference doesn't faze us. It's part of our daily terminology. No shame. Same goes for vulva sizes and nipple arrangements.
4. Any diet we had or were considering starting went out the window. Work outs and trips include fast food and gas stations. Plus, sometimes stress eating just feels REALLY GOOD. We learn after one food poisoning incident from a fast food salad that it's just easier to bite the bullet and eat a damn burger.
5. We understand the need for a garbage bag in the van. Two words: spit bottles.
6. We also understand the need for air fresheners in the van. Four words: Boys and Taco Bell.
7. Crude conversations also don't faze because the boys have probably said something 10x worse in the van at one point in time. (Basically, judging boys are gross)
8. Although we never admit it, or brag about it, beating the boys during a contest feels about a million times better than beating other girls. We know we aren't breaking any gender barriers by any means, but it still feels warm and fuzzy inside.
9. We are experts at controlling and masking our emotions. We can come off as b*tches at times, but really we just don't want to look weak. Unwritten rule: the boys will never see me cry....
10. ...HOWEVER there will be one bad contest or terrible practice that pushes us beyond the control phase and we will break down in front of them. BUT it's ok because we know the boys will always have our back and be willing to go up to bat for us no matter the situation. They are our brothers and no matter how much they tease us, we wouldn't trade them for the world.
