As a social media -savvy millennial I have recently seen the "Basic Christmas List for the Young Adult" floating around Facebook. While I do enjoy some basic white girl pleasures such as knit socks and blanket scarves, I noticed a few things missing off that list that every basic farmer wants to find under the tree on Christmas Day...
1. Wool socks- for bitter morning chores
2. Hand and feet warmers-refer to #1
3. Polo and Cinch gift cards- self explanatory
4. Twisted X Driving Mocks- so comfy!
5. Successful Farming subscription renewal (or other associated press materials)
6. Higher corn prices- dream big!
7. Lower chemical prices- still dreaming big!
8. Yeti coolers and cups...for soda and coffee of course...
9. Carhart Coat- just an essential
10. Ariat Cobolt Boot Insoles - it's like walking on a cloud
11. Black Rock leather and boot conditioner- got to keep the boots looking nice
12. Thinsulate work gloves- or like 20 pairs because they always seem to get lost
13. Long underwear- just another wintertime essential
14. XM radio for the tractor - because plowing can be quite boring
15. Flex Fit baseball hats - who doesn't need another hat to add to their collection?
16. Higher cattle and hog prices- always dreaming big!
17. 1000 dose bottles of Draxxin- aka liquid gold
18. Baling Twine- not just used for making hay
19. WD40- you can never have enough
20. Farmers Almanac that is dead accurate on the upcoming year!
Merry Christmas to all the men and women who spend their holidays feeding and clothing others first before themselves!
