1) The Stock Show Look: Bell bottomed jeans, animal print boots, flows shirts with furry vests, and lots of bling and big hair. These are the days that we spend the most time on, even if it is just to walk around a fairground or stockyard looking at livestock. Aztec print, faux fur, turquoise Oh My!
2) The Trying To Blend in With Societal Norms Look: Break out the curled hair, skinny jeans and cardigans! Believe it or not we don’t ALWAYS wear western boots or Twisted X! Sometimes we actually try to dress the way society says is cute. If you saw us in public you’d never guess we spent the morning arm deep in a cows rectum.
3) The Bum Look: We do actually own leggings, oversized sweatshirts, and comfy shoes. This is what we consider our “travel” outfit or the “last night got the best of me” outfit. When you work 10x more than non-Ag girls you deserve to spend some time in comfy clothes with greasy hair and no make up.
4) The I Actually Have To Get Sh*t Done Today Look: Time to get down and dirty with the jeans, T-shirt, baseball cap and muck boots. Whether it’s fixing fence, pulling pigs, feeding calves, bailing hay, riding horses, herding sheep, driving tractor, and more, this is our go to look. Do we rock this look 90% of the time? Yes and we are proud of it.
As females in agriculture we are proud to be flexible with our fashion choices. Our diversity in style reflects our diversity in what we do in our work life. Very few women elsewhere know how to dress it up, dress it down, and work it quite like we do.
