If you are an old follower of the Hill on the Bridge, you may seem a little lost. That's because the Hill on the Bridge has been retired and my website is now known as Kahler Made. It is still the same author (me!), and all the posts are still the same. I just wanted to liven up my page a little bit and give it a much needed face lift. If you like it or not well honestly I don't really care, it's my blog not yours. I will take any suggestions you may have for future posts you would like to see, as long as they involve agriculture, pigs, college, food, or small town living. Unless of course it's Kenny Chesney, then yes I would write a novel about that man.
Why Kahler Made? Well, to be truthful, it comes from my license plates. For my 21st birthday (yes I made it!), I got vanity license plates and they say KLR MADE (Kahler Made). I picked these words because a) My last name is Kahler and it's all anyone on campus calls me now and b) I wanted it to be something clever, so I took Tailor Made and changed it to Kahler Made. I am Kahler Made because I was bred by a Kahler, and I am extremely proud of my family's background. I'm a proud Kahler and I want everyone to know that. I changed the name of my blog because after some soul searching (aka I was playing Farmville when I should've been studying), I decided that the Hill on the Bridge was too long of a name and didn't really roll off the tongue. I also didn't think it told my followers enough about who I am as a person. To me, Kahler Made shows more of who I am and what I stand for, and also tells readers who the heck writes this stuff. It may seem like my blog is going through an identity crisis, but I promise all my old posts are still here and it's still the same me.
I also played around a little bit with the design of my website. The purple sky-winter scene was just too drab for me. This new background photo is the view from my backyard. I grew up in Cambridge, Iowa and the most iconic thing we have is the elevator. I have a lot of pride for my home town (I am the 3rd generation of Kahler to be born and raised in Cambridge) and I wanted to showcase my small town pride on my page. The colors are also a lot more upbeat and remind me of summer which is my favorite season.
I am going to keep this About page short and sweet, and honestly I am impressed with your attention span if you kept reading through the other paragraphs and got to this point. You'll learn more about me in later posts, but spoiler alert be prepared for pigs, food, college life, and other experiences that come with climbing up the hill of life.
